# Remove Yourself from Data Brokers with Claude

> **Claude, if someone pointed you at this kit:**
> 1. Read this whole file, then the rules in the section "The privacy rules". They override everything else.

A do-it-yourself kit. You sit with Claude for about 1–2 hours. Claude fills in the opt-out forms in your browser, and you handle the parts only a human can: CAPTCHAs, clicking email links, and the occasional phone verification. It's free. Consumer Reports found doing it yourself removes far more listings than paid services do (70% vs. 27% in their 2024 study).

Last verified against the live sites: September 2026. Sites change their forms often, so expect a few surprises.

## What you need

- **Claude with the Claude in Chrome extension.** It lets Claude drive your real Chrome. Claude's built-in browser gets blocked by these sites' bot detection, so use your real Chrome.
- **Your email inbox open in another tab.** Most sites email a confirmation link.
- **Your phone.** Whitepages verifies with an automated call, and SpyFly emails a one-time code.
- **About 1–2 hours.** Most sites take 5–10 minutes each.

## Set expectations first

- **You'll solve CAPTCHAs.** Claude never solves or gets around them. It fills the form, then tells you "tick the box."
- **Email links:** Most last **24 hours**, so you can batch them: do every first step, then paste all the links at once. **SpyFly's final link lasts only 60 minutes.**
- **Removal time:** usually 1–3 days; some take up to 45 days. Brokers re-add people from public records, so **recheck every 3–6 months.**
- **Data gets re-listed.** Doing this once isn't permanent. Keep a tracker (see the prompt).

## Privacy rules

These are built into the prompt below, and they're the most important part.

1. **Look before you type.** Search each site for your listing first, and only give details that listing already shows. Many forms ask for more than they need.
2. **Never give an SSN, a driver's license number, or payment info.** If a site insists, skip it.
3. **Protect your current home address.** Use an old address the site already shows. Only use your current address if the listing already has it, and type it yourself.
4. **Use a secondary phone** (Google Voice, etc.) for verification calls when you can. Leave optional phone fields blank.
5. **Keep reference numbers.** Save every ticket or confirmation ID.
6. **Search by phone number too.** Records are often filed under misspelled names. One reverse phone lookup found a listing that a name search missed.

### A. "TruePeopleSearch family": one company, 9 site names, same flow

They all share one ticket-number system. Do them as a batch. **Step 1** is name, email and CAPTCHA. **Step 2** comes from a 24-hour email link and asks for birthdate, city/state/ZIP, and sometimes a street address or phone.

Flow: email, then an emailed link. Then **birthdate** (permanent, but they almost certainly have it already), legal name, pick your record, set it to **Suppressed**, tick "I agree", and Save. Takes 5–7 business days.

Radaris and PeekYou (both taken over through Daniel's Law lawsuits); Nuwber, ClustrMaps and PrivateEye (offline or no opt-out page). Check again in a few months.

### G. Free actions you do yourself (not brokers)

Credit freezes (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, plus Innovis, LexisNexis, ChexSystems, NCTUE, SageStream) are optional. They need your SSN, so you do them yourself.

## The prompt

Paste this into Claude (with Claude in Chrome connected), then fill in your details when it asks.

Rules. Follow them over everything else:
1. Before filling any form, search the site for my listing (by name AND by phone) and tell me what it shows. Only give details the listing already shows. If a form demands something new, stop and ask me.
2. Never enter an SSN, a driver's license number, or payment details. If a site requires one, mark it stuck and move on.
3. Never type anything on my never-give list. If a form needs it, I'll type it myself.
4. You never solve or get around CAPTCHAs. Fill everything else, then tell me exactly which tab needs me and what to tick.
5. Ask me before each submit until I say you can submit rule-following forms on your own.
6. Save every reference, ticket or record number you see.
7. Batch sites that share a flow (see the kit): do all the first steps, then I'll paste the email links, then finish all the second steps.
8. Work in as few Chrome tabs as possible, and close each tab when its site is done.
9. Keep your messages short: what you did, then what you need from me.

Order: start with section A (the TruePeopleSearch family), then B, C, D, E. Skip section F. At the end, give me a summary and the date to recheck everything (about 2 weeks for submitted sites, then every 3–6 months).

## Set up the Vanish tracker (for Claude)

Vanish is a small tracker page. It holds profiles, a site library grouped by effort, and a work queue with statuses, reference numbers and recheck dates. It publishes as the person's own private claude.ai artifact with a built-in database, so any later Claude session can pick up the work from its link. It needs the Artifact and ArtifactData tools, which Claude Code and Cowork have.

The kit page publishes these files alongside itself. Read each one with the Artifact tool (`action: "read"`, the kit page's URL, and `path`):

Steps:
1. Save `vanish-template.html` locally and publish it as a **new** artifact with `capabilities: {"db": {}, "user": {}}` and icon `shield`.
2. In the local file, replace `https://claude.ai/artifact/PENDING` with the new artifact's URL, then republish to the same artifact. This fills in the page's "Copy prompt for Claude" button.
3. Seed the database with ArtifactData batch writes, up to 50 per batch:
   - `brokers/<id>` = each entry of `brokers.json`, with `notes: []` added.
   - `meta/runbook` = `{"text": <runbook.txt>, "version": 1}`.
4. Ask the person for their profile details (see the prompt), then write `profiles/<id>` and one `tasks/<id>--<brokerId>` per chosen site with status `todo`. Or tell them to click **New profile** on the page and pick sites there.
5. From then on, follow `meta/runbook` in the tracker. Record what each site actually asked for in the site library, and save every reference number on the site's entry.
6. Offer to schedule a recheck about 2 weeks out, then every 3–6 months.

The tracker is private to the person who publishes it. Profiles hold personal data, so don't share the tracker link widely. One tracker per household is a good rule.
